Trent Trophies League Rules
  1. Entry into the League is by invitation only. Permanent membership will be voted on at the A.G.M. after playing one season.
  2. Matches are played on Tuesday evenings and start at 8.00pm. (7.30pm for Clubs using only one table). The match commences with a draw to determine opponents. The home team captain chooses the order of play. Games will run continuously on at least one table until the match is completed (i.e. there will be no breaks for such as refreshments unless both captains agree).
  3. Any requests to accommodate the opposition, i.e. players wishing to play first or last, must be decided by the captains before play starts. The deadline for late arrivals is 9.30 p.m. unless agreed otherwise by both captains prior to play starting.
  4. Matches may not be cancelled under any circumstances. Any team unable to commence play by 8pm (or for clubs with one table 7-45pm) will lose one point and a further point for every fifteen minutes it is in default.
  5. If a team turns up with 4 players, then one player will be allowed to play twice if the remaining player fails to turn up and there are no substitutes available. The player will be selected by means of a draw which will take place at the time of the match draw unless both captains agree otherwise. If a selected player is not able to play twice then the opposition must be notified at the time of selection so a different player could be selected. Refusal to play by a player will result in the forfeit of the frame. If a team turns up with less than 4 players, then no player will be allowed to play twice. Points for un-played frames will be awarded to the opposition. Please note this on your result card.
  6. If a team fails to turn up for 3 games then they will be removed from the League. All results for the team will be removed from the League standings.
  7. Both team captains are responsible for results. All results to reach the secretary by the Friday following the match. Failure to do so will result in both teams being deducted 2 points from their League Cup handicap. Each team will be allowed to forward a result in late once without penalty. League tables will be updated on the website on a regular basis and are available from the Secretary on request.
  8. WPBSA rules apply with the exception of Section 3.14 (Foul and a Miss). Snooker rules are now available on the World Snooker website. They can also be downloaded or purchased from this site.
  9. Players wishing to change teams may do so once only during the league season. Before playing for a new team they must miss two consecutive league games.
